The Bike Rack’s Free One-Hour Yoga Class The Bike Rack is offering a free one hour Yoga Class on Sunday at 6:00 pm at the shop. Yoga Instructor Tatiana Shchekodina will lead you through an hour of Vinyassa Flow Yoga with the sequence and intensity of the class adjusted to the personal experience of each individual student.

Donate Used Bikes to Bikes for the World
The Bike Rack has partnered with Bikes for the World (BFW), a local non-profit organization whose mission is to send donated bikes to developing countries where they can transform lives.
BFW partners with other non-profits locally and around the world to train and employ bike mechanics to recondition used bikes, sell bikes at low prices and/or give free bikes to healthcare workers, teachers and students.
If you wish to donate your used bike to BFW, please contact us or just bring your bike by the shop. BFW asks for a $10 donation to cover collection and shipping costs. www.bikesfortheworld.org

Preparation for high level aspirations is often more difficult than the race or goal itself. On race day you will have done the hard training and testing so you are ready to achieve your best. I have worked with power / watts for more than five years and performance analysis for many types of athletes. Your lifestyle and goals are very important to me. I believe coach and athlete must have mutual trust and confidence to communicate often and freely in support of reaching and CRUSHING your goals!!!
The ultimate goal as an athlete with DC Running Coach is to not only improve your level of fitness, but to reach a peak level of fitness for one (or two) particular point(s) in the year. Whether it is a local 5k or 10k, an upcoming soccer league, or your first marathon, your coach will take strides with you (no pun intended) to help you have a successful season. Having a personal coach to aid in developing a customized schedule will introduce you to new methods of training, as well as concepts involved with human physiology and nutrition. You will receive feedback regarding your pacing and intensity to ensure your training progresses, and you will also receive help in allocating each workout to a specific day in your schedule to ensure it is feasible
to adhere to the program.
DC Running Coach is typically not personal training. The primary service provided is the design of an individualized training program based on the principles of periodization, which is the science of altering training volume and intensity at various points in the year in order to maximize fitness. A personal training option has been added to the services for those interested.
Dr. Paul Glodzik is a graduate of both the State University of New York at Buffalo and the National University of Health Sciences. He is certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist and has worked as a Sports Performance coach with the Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School Football team, Ashburn Extreme Junior Hockey teams, Virginia Wild Junior Hockey teams and athletes involved in volleyball, golf and track and field. Dr. Glodzik has also been certified as an Active Release Technique provider and Certified Kinesio-Taping Practitioner.
Dr. Glodzik has worked in the past year with the DC Tri Club and DC Roadrunners Club as one of their healthcare providers. He has also worked with many local running clubs teaching them proper warm-up and stride technique.
