Join us every weekend for a group ride led by The Bike Rack! See our full schedule and ride descriptions below. Before joining a group ride make sure you are prepared with: a bike in good working condition, a helmet (these are mandatory), a water bottle or two, and a spare tube. For safety reasons, all rides are canceled in the event of rain or sub-freezing temperatures.
Intro Road Ride
This is our old standby – perfect for anyone new to group riding who wants to gain some experience before jumping into an intermediate ride. We go about 25-30 miles at 13 -17 mph. Road bikes and helmets are required. Every Saturday, 10 a.m. at Q St shop.
This mid-paced gravel ride will head out from our Brookland shop, swing by our Q St shop, and head to the Capital Crescent trail entrance in Georgetown. Meet us at any of those three spots and join us for a 25-35 mile round-trip excursion. We’ll midpoint at the Marsden Tract Campsite with a campfire (BYORoastables) and get you back to DC by 11 p.m. One Saturday a month, 5 p.m. at Brookland shop; 5:30 p.m. at Q St shop, 6 p.m. at the Capital Crescent entrance.
Intermediate/Advanced Road Ride
Sundays, 8:30 a.m., Q Street. This is our weekly, fast group road ride. The intermediate group averages 40 miles at 17 to 18 mph. The advanced route is 40 to 60+ miles at 18 to 20 mph. These are a pure group road ride and we try to maintain and sustain the group throughout the course. This ride assumes that you have group ride and paceline experience. If you don’t, please start with our Intro Ride on Saturday at 10:00 am instead.
